The point where we start to associate with them is the point when we take them on.
The word ‘friend’ here refers to people in whom we invest time, trust and resources. It means not only our ‘buddies’ but also includes all relatives, colleagues, teachers and employees in whom we make such investments.
When we accept someone as a friend, we start to ‘associate’ with them specifically by three sorts of investment: joining, receiving, and giving:

Literally, these six forms of behaviour were referred to as ‘portals to destruction’ and indeed, they do not only destroy a person’s wealth, but go on to undermine the whole economic infrastructure of a country or a society too. They perform their careers diligently and choose to work in wholesome careers because they are capable of distinguishing between right and wrong. They realize that unwholesome and illegal careers are not appropriate for their human dignity.
Regarding spending, they foresee the harmfulness of poverty and debt, and thus always remind themselves not to spend money extravagantly. They have good discipline concern.....
