Target Character Trait # 2 : Responsibility for the human dignity of others
 
Bias
This bias is the cause of corruption at all levels.
 
Bias is the act of prejudice that leads to unjust situations.
 
The four forms of bias comprise:
 
- Bias because of desire [chandagati]; results in unjust treatment due to the influence of personal love and pleasure. One commits the inappropriate actions such as giving beneficial gain to someone who does not deserve it while ignoring the deserved one. One may decide to do so because the receivers are one’s relatives or favorite friends. This bias is the cause of corruption at all levels.

originates from the feeling of anger within one’s mind.
 
 
- Bias because of hatred [dosagati]; originates from the feeling of anger within one’s mind. The inappropriate actions and unjust treatment are committed when one has personal hatred and anger against others. This bias is the cause of hateful maltreatment in our society.

- Bias because of ignorance [mohagati]; also causes inappropriate treatment among people in the society. This bias makes our social rules become weakened and uncertain.
 
- Bias because of fear [byagati] happens when one fears possible dangers. So, one decides to mistreat the others. This bias results in social harmful.
